Below you will find answers to frequently asked questions and details from the photographer to help you better decide if Wandering Hearts Photography would be a good fit for you. Here at WHP we believe in healthy and open communication and that no question is a silly question.
Where are you located and do you have an office?
I am located in Franklin County and have a home base out of Gerald and Union, MO specifically. While I don't have a studio, I operate out of my home where clients can meet for wedding consultations and to try on clothes from the client closet.
How long have you been capturing photos?
June 2025 Wandering Hearts Photography will celebrate 5 years! Unofficially, everyone has always called me the selfie queen.
Do you help with wedding planning?
Yes! If I wasn't already capturing weddings you'd probably find me as a wedding planner. 9-10 months out from your wedding we will meet to talk about a rough timeline for the wedding to share with the bridal party, family, vendors and venue. If the venue provides a wedding planner or you book a wedding planner, I work with them to build the perfect wedding timeline to take as much stress off the bride and groom as possible and set you up for a great day. In addition, I am available to help with finding and calling vendors and determining the best decor and setup for your wedding day.
What camera and equipment do you shoot with?
I am a Canon girl! I currently am shooting with the R6 Mirrorless camera and the EOS 6D. The mirrorless camera is a dual SD card camera so you can be assured that your wedding photos are safe! I use a variety of lenses but my favorite for weddings are my 35mm, 50mm, 70-200mm and the ever handy 24-105mm. In addition I also use varying Canon and Godox Flashes when necessary.
How many photos will we receive?
For most weddings, you can expect to receive 80-100 photos per hour. A 10 hour wedding day typically receives 1000+ photos. Lifestyle sessions (families, senior portraits, maternity, etc) can expect to receive 40-80 photos.
Are you insured?
I carry personal insurance for myself and cover general liability and professional liability in my contracts between clients that is signed by both the bride and groom and photographer.
Do we have to feed you?
Yes! I think this goes without saying that your vendors are working hard and long hours to make your day a success with minimal to no breaks. Included in the contract all couples sign is that the photographer(s) will be provided a hot (or equal) meal and a seat for all weddings 5 hours or more in length. Typically for photographers that means we eat with the bridal party since the only time we aren't taking photos is when the bride and groom and bridal party are eating.
Do you provide a second photographer?
When requested, and when available, a second photographer can be added to your wedding package for all of or part of your wedding day. The second photographer cost is $40/hour and is more than a second photographer. She captures secondary perspectives, details, helps fluff the dress and veil, ensure jewelry is turned correctly and all the things.
Do you offer a first responder discount?
Yes! As part of the blue line family myself, police, fire fighters, emt/paramedics and active military receive $200 off their wedding packages (can be stacked with the preferred venue discount).
